New Things

During the times that a lot of us feel inclined to start new things, we want to build a "new life", a "new body" or a "new me".

But I want to encourage a different rhetoric.

Instead of chasing a “new you” or a “new body” I want to chase a different mindset. Same body, same me, but I want to learn new skills and have new feelings about the body that I was born with. I want to feel more comfortable in my skin and feel stronger and safer in the movements that I choose everyday.

For some of us, it feels like a fresh beginning at times like this, and if you want to take advantage of that feeling, I will encourage you every step of the way. But I want to encourage you to challenge yourself in a way that does not degrade who you are now or the body that you are living in. If you want to embrace new habits and new challenges, or to chase happiness, healthiness and wellness, please be kind to yourself while you do so. And if you need a helping hand during this process, someone to remind you how to challenge yourself safely or someone to help you feel comfortable and confident as you embark on a new journey, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
